Two amazing awards for 2019

2018 was the inaugural year for two fantastic awards - The Be Kind Award which was presented at WellVet Weekend to Lacey Pitcher for her fantastic work in setting up the Veterinary Pay It Forward (VPIF) group to “spread a little kindness” across the profession. And The Polly Birch Award, presented to Cal Major at the VSGD:Live! event  for her outstanding contribution to marine and coast life conservation with her Paddle against Plastic campaign.

The Be Kind 2019 Award


The Be Kind Award aims to acknowledge those within the veterinary profession who have demonstrated consistent acts of kindness and compassion towards their colleagues, patients and clients, those who celebrate and share positivity and those who inspire and encourage acts of kindness within the veterinary profession.

The Polly Birch 2019 Award

This Polly Birch Award aims to recognise people within the veterinary community that have engendered the spirit of Polly in the work that they do. Nominees should show passion, commitment and empathy in the work they do and demonstrate that they are contributing to a community, putting others before themselves including displaying acts of selflessness and a caring attitude, or be demonstrating a personal commitment for the benefit of environment
